He's an attacking winger who has power and strength - the kind of player who can dribble past you on his way to making a cross, or comes steaming in at the back post to blast a header past the goalkeeper. Fox will air in English and Telemundo will air in Spanish.

Vida comes flying across and clears the danger. You can stream all the games through try for free. France lost to Italy in the 2006 World Cup Final, infamous for Zinedine Zidane's head butt to Marco Materazzi.

We will miss this World Cup like no other. The day after Bastille Day France are champions and deservedly so. But only after the most remarkable, crazy and controversial encounter against a courageous Croatia in which there was a VAR storm, and an actual storm in the skies above Moscow, a first-ever own goal in a World Cup Final, a cool strike from a new global superstar, an horrific goalkeeping blunder by the man who lifted the trophy - and a Pussy Riot pitch invasion. To secure its status as the best ever World Cup the tournament needed a memorable final. What a finale it was to this 31-day festival of football, as Gareth Southgate called it, and it was the highest-scoring final since England beat West Germany 4-2 in 1966. At least the score was the same and while England and their fans will never stop dreaming of what might have been - just 22 minutes from the final, if anyone needed reminding - France have the 18-carat gold, 14-inch, 11lb trophy for the second time ever and the second time in 20 years. Not that the former midfielder has always been loved and this triumph is a victory for his dogged, determined approach in overhauling the squad that lost the final of Euro 2016 - with 14 new faces - but also reverting to a more disciplined and pragmatic approach which meant shackling some of their extraordinary attacking talents. He did it his way and the danger for the rest of the world is that this is an extremely young squad - the second youngest ever at 25 years and 10 months after Brazil in 1970 to win the World Cup - and one that may get even better. They were the best in Russia. Deschamps has made Paul Pogba play for the team and was rewarded with a goal - actually the first-ever scored in a World Cup Final by a Manchester United player - and an influential performance but he also has the brilliance of Kylian Mbappe who is a phenomenon. The 19-year-old had the broadest of smiles during the playing of the national anthems prior to kick-off, looking like this was going to be his playground, but played patchily for 45 minutes before coming alive. Even so for almost an hour Croatia, led by the player of the tournament Luka Modric, were the better team in what was their first final. In the last 11 days they had come through extra-time in the three knock-out matches, twice going to penalties, which meant they had played the equivalent of an extra game and had 24 hours less to prepare. But they again showed remarkable reserves of resilience, energy and fighting spirit to pick themselves back up and off the canvas. They never, ever gave up. They will have burned with a sense of injustice at half-time. Both of those goals were dipped in controversy. Griezmann took it, swinging the ball in with Mario Mandzukic unsettled by the presence of Raphael Varane in front of him and Pogba behind. Even then it seemed Pogba could have been given off-side although it may have been marginal. It may also have been one where he was deemed passive. Either way it was given and Mandzukic became the first player to score an own goal in a World Cup Final. It was also the fourth time in the knock-out stages that Croatia had fallen behind but, yet again, they drew level with the kind of goal that says everything about their indefatigability. Four times in the French penalty area they won the ball, from a Modric free-kick, with Domagoj Vida finally turning it back to the outstanding Ivan Perisic who deftly pushed it away from Kante and drilled a superb, powerful left-foot shot past Hugo Lloris. Argentinian referee Nestor Pitana bizarrely gave a goal-kick but the French players angrily demanded a penalty. Eventually Pitana was instructed by the VAR, Italian Massimiliano Irrati, to review it and ran over to the touchline. It seemed an eternity but he returned, pointing to the penalty spot and Griezmann calmly converted. It seemed harsh - Perisic did not attempt to move his hand, could not see the ball, it was not a clear and obvious error - but Croatia were behind again. Once more they dug deep but there was always danger and not least because France have proven themselves to be the best counter-attacking team. Twice they confirmed that. The lead was extended in a move started and ended by Pogba who sent an arcing pass out wide to Mbappe whose searing pace took him into the area. He cut the ball back to Griezmann who set up Pogba after he made up the yards. Mbappe had his moment after Lucas Hernandez broke down the left and cut the ball infield. With Vida standing off Mbappe brilliantly disguised his shot from 20-plus yards to strike it low and into the corner. There was one final, memorable twist as Mandzukic chased down a Samuel Umtiti back-pass with Lloris far too casual as he tried to take the ball around the forward. Mandzukic stuck out a leg and diverted it in. But it was not enough. As the World Cup was presented the storm broke, the heavens opened and it poured down. Not that anything was going to dampen French celebrations. From Russia with love. What a World Cup this has been and, rightly, it ends with worthy winners. VAR made the decisions fair... The penalty today was incredibly harsh and shouldn't have been given. The thing is though, the referee had time to look and assess the incident. It's not that he saw it wrong or made something up in an instant, he's just to blame for his decision. France are deserved winners. What a fun we've all had this month. The greatest show on earth! How has he missed?! The ball - somehow - lands at Pogba's feet, in space, in the middle of the box! He misses the ball! How do either of those things happen at this stage in a World Cup final? Pogba wins a goal kick soon after... That's one tasty goose. France fans think they've won. They're dancing in the stands, bouncing as they sing. Croatia come forward, Rakitic makes a bad pass and Mbappe is away! Vrsaljko comes flying in to take Griezmann out with a slide tackle. They're club mates so it'll be OK. He doesn't really connect either but since it's at such high pace the tackle looks bad. Yellow for the Croatia right-back. Mbappe runs with the ball, Croatia's centre-backs retreat and look scared... He ends up leaving it behind himself and falls to the ground. Croatia survive and try to stretch the pitch with the full-backs high and wide. Deschamps takes Giroud off and sends on Fekir. Giroud hasn't scored a single goal at the World Cup. Vrsaljko has found space on the right, Perisic is ahead of him and crosses in... They have an overlap on the left, Strinic crosses and France can't break. Really good defending by Croatia high in France's half. Vrsaljko tries a shot from 30 yards which... Let's leave it at that. Mandzukic's forearm rolls over the top of Umtiti's forehead... Umtiti is immediately in mortal danger and goes down howling about the unbearable pain he is being put through. Mandzukic too is worryingly close to death, having rolled his forewarm over the forehead of Umtiti. Will they survive this tragedy? Will the world ever forget these two brave souls? A collision that has ended both their lives, a shocking, horrible, tear-inducing accident? Will they abandon the game perhaps? Didn't you see the collision?! His arm touched his head! DIDN'T YOU SEE HIM TOUCH HIS SKULL?! Both players are fine. The pass from Pogba is sensational - the best I've seen in this tournament. Mbappe sprints onto it, cuts back and plays the ball inside, Griezmann controls with some keepy-ups then sets him up for a shot. The first slams back off a defender and then Pogba takes the rebound on his left and curls it into the back of the net. Subasic is beaten and France have a commanding lead! Security guards run onto the grass immediately to tackle the pitch invaders and grab them all very quickly. And it's off to the Gulag for them. Well done lads, you'll enjoy your lifetime in a Russian prison. Meanwhile, in the football, a cross is sent into the area and LLORIS MISSES THE PUNCH! He doesn't get enough contact on the ball and France survive. Lloris might have hurt himself a wee bit with that collision. Croatia have France penned in and they just can't get out! Pogba carries the ball and sends it long towards Mbappe - he's so quick! You can basically see fire coming out of his heels as he sprints past Vida, holds him off showing great balance and is just too close to Subasic to score past him at such a narrow angle. Aaaaand some toolbags have run onto the pitch. About three people in fancy dress have managed to get past security to run onto the pitch. Rakitic rides a tackle and slips the ball in behind the defence, Rebic comes onto it and hits at a narrow angle with power! Lloris tips the ball over. Modric takes the corner but Rebic puts it out for a goal kick while battling with Hernandez. The ball is hit long from the defence and OH ME OH MY Croatia have a chance here! Lloris comes off his line! He has to be careful here! He is, and controls on his chest outside the area! France a little more forward thinking here and push higher up the pitch... Vrsaljko crosses in but it's not great and Lloris can smother. France hit towards Giroud, he sets up Griezmann... The ball comes in and comes off a France defender... France don't seem happy dealing with these set pieces. Umtiti goes down and stays down, Croatia play on... He gets some medical attention having survived the collision with Mandzukic I think but will be OK to continue. That's why you don't stop playing when you have momentum and someone sits on the ground with an injury. The ball rolls back to Subasic and he's missed it! Ooooohhhhhh if he had been five yards further back that was a hugely embarrassing own goal. The goalkeeper gets away with it. Umtiti pushes Mandzukic to the floor and Croatia have another free-kick in the France final third. The big lads come up for it, Modric prepares to cross into the area. It's long to the back post.... He absolutely batters a shot at goal but it hits Pogba and goes behind for a corner. Croatia nearly hit them back straight away! The cross comes in but Croatia players just can't react in time inside the box! Mbappe is sent away down the right and completely bins about three players with his turn of pace, then his low cross causes a bit of panic. Croatia then attack and Hernandez is booked for a foul on Rebic. Mandzukic is winning his aerial battles and Umtiti does not like him. Lloris catches Rebic's cross and then hoofs the ball up the other end of the pitch to Mbappe. Vida heads behind for a corner. End to end play with one pass from France. Route One works sometimes. Griezmann will deliver an in-swinger here. Matuidi runs across the near post... Ohhhh and there's controversy! France want a penalty! The ball comes off Perisic's hand. I think that's harsh... The previous highest number of own goals in a World Cup was in 1998 when there were six. France have cooled down a little now and seem calmer on the ball... A brilliant pass forward sends him away and it's two on one, slightly right of the goal. Vida comes flying across and clears the danger. Great work by Giroud. He collects in the final third, works hard and uses his strength and balance to hold of Rakitic and keeps possession. Mbappe dribbles past Rakitic into the box but the low cross is booted away... Griezmann looks for contact and goes down when he gets it. He has the entire left of the pitch to run into... Umtiti watches the move well and blocks. Croatia are in total control here - France have not started well. Perisic has gone down off the ball and Hernandez appears to be at fault. He's accidentally collided with the Croatia winger and given him a wee knock. Giroud heads the corner away, Croatia keep up the pressure. Mandzukic is beaten to a header, Pogba tries to start the counter-attack and Rebic fouls him immediately, Modric kicks the ball forward so France can't restart quickly. Croatia have a clear gameplan. Press high, foul if France look like they might even consider countering and shift the ball wide. Croatia look really up for this early on and aren't showing nerves! They've started with a spark are making France work early on. Umtiti is closed down quickly and France get a goal kick. Umtiti is fouled by Mandzukic as he brings the ball out from the back. Croatia are intent on disrupting France's buildup play. Modric catches Hernandez and gives away another free-kick... He skips past him down the left, France sprint to get back... Strinic comes to take it... Mbappe clears as Mandzukic can't keep the thing under control. For Croatia, Modric and Rakitic are the ones who set the tempo, control the game and make the team work. Ivan Perisic is their most dangerous player though and will give Benjamin Pavard a difficult game. He's an attacking winger who has power and strength - the kind of player who can dribble past you on his way to making a cross, or comes steaming in at the back post to blast a header past the goalkeeper. For France, most of the attacks will be done on the counter and will be lead by Mbappe. Kante is needed to win the ball, Pogba is the one who turns defence into attack and Mbappe can destroy defences if he's able to get on the ball. We play the best football. I am optimist, for us everything is going good to win this tournament. Predictably it's all about how clubs in the Premier League need to trust their youngsters and start actually playing them. Jurgen Klinsmann brings up a really good point and says that clubs can't roll the red carpet out for these young players - they have to be nasty, show determination and drive and earn those starting positions. The best usually make it. Mbappe broke into the Monaco first team because he was good enough. Kane only made the Spurs starting XI because he was good enough. Loftus-Cheek is a fairly unique example because Chelsea is a farce when it comes to bringing through youth players but he should have done enough this summer to earn a starting place. That said, can you really see Maurizio Sarri risking his job on getting Loftus-Cheek up to speed? It's an incredible achievement, especially when you consider that not only has he not been very good, he's also actually been quite bad. And his goals are three penalties, a deflection off his heel, a tap-in and a back post header. The last one was actually really well taken. The penalties were impressive too. And joking aside, it really is a phenomenal bit of work by Kane to win it. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yes, I Googled it is with Vladimir Putin and Gianni Infantino, who is wearing his expensive president clothes today because he is the president of FIFA. His wife's made him a little packed lunch and sent him on his way. Is it too early for wine? But it's getting earlier all the time. These guys look like the kind of hired goon easily deceived by a 'surprise package' being delivered to the cell, by someone posing to be a post-man but who is actually executing a cunning plan. They answer the door then someone puts a barrel over their heads and our cartoon hero escapes with the prize after making a witty comment. Really, they're both 4-3-3. France will be defensive, sit deep and look to attack down the right wing with Kylian Mbappe, Giroud will annoy the centre-backs and Kante will win turnovers to help assist with the counter-attack match strategy. Croatia will have a fair amount of the ball and almost definitely focus their play down the left wing to exploit the young Pavard and Mbappe's defensive mind. Will Mbappe commit to blocking their route to goal? Rakitic and Modric will - of course - be key to Croatia getting control of the game, Vrsaljko will overlap a lot of the time to provide width on the right. Brosovic sits deep to protect the defence and guard against counter-attacks. The World Cup Final. The big one - the biggest one of all! The last World Cup was pretty boring and if France and Croatia could avoid that happening again, I'd be pretty pleased about it. The sun is shining, the players are excited, I'm excited, you're excited - we're all excited. But will the game be any good? Croatia deserved to beat England and were the better team... Luka Modric is the best player in the competition but Kylian Mbappe is a close second and N'Golo Kante probably in there at third... France have an incredible team and play in a style that makes them stupidly hard to beat. Self-proclaimed best defender in the world Dejan Lovren what will have a tough time against Olivier Giroud today assuming he starts but it's the full-backs who will really be challenged. Croatia rely heavily on Sime Vrsaljko on their right side but with Griezmann his direct opponent today, he needs to be really careful what he gets up to. Paul Pogba is due a goal and has been brilliant in this France setup, playing like a Jose Mourinho dream. Defending, positional discipline, amazing through-balls, quick transitions - he's everything a Pogba should be and more and could do wonders for his reputation with a stellar performance today. It would be a shock if Croatia did win. They'd beat France about one time out of every five if forced to constantly play them and Didier Deschamps' cautious approach is designed to ensure there are no mistakes which facilitate such surprises. Will today be one of those five times? But we're going to find out soon. Stay with us, and specifically me, for all the build-up, analysis and live updates from the biggest game in world sport.

Vrsaljko has found space on the fub, Perisic is ahead of him and crosses in. Eventually Pitana was instructed by the VAR, Italian Massimiliano Irrati, to review it and ran over to the touchline. Mbappe had his moment after Lucas Hernandez broke down the left and cut the ball difference. It may also have been one where he was deemed passive.
